ESTHER IRELAND
ESTHER Ireland is an initiative of the HSE Global Health Programme
that supports Irish health services and institutions to develop
linkages and partnerships with counterpart institutions in low- and
middle-income countries. The main aim of the partnership approach is
to make a significant contribution to health outcomes in lower- and
middle-income countries through addressing inequities in access and
coverage, while improving the quality of services through capacity
building and institutional development.
IRISH GLOBAL HEALTH NETWORK
The Irish Global Health Network (IGHN) is an independent network of
people from different backgrounds, sectors and disciplines who are
concerned with health inequities and issues that impact on the health
and development of populations at a global level, with a particular
commitment to those living in low- and middle-income?countries. The
IGHN has an agreement with the HSE Global Health Programme to provide
services for ESTHER Ireland. Under this agreement, the IGHN hosts the
ESTHER Ireland secretariat and provides a range of technical and
administrative supports to the HSE Global Health Programme.
ABOUT THE ROLE
ESTHER Ireland, an initiative of the HSE Global Health Programme, is
looking for a dynamic and motivated Programme Coordinator to join our
team. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director
of the Irish Global Health Network (IGHN) and will be responsible for
the administration of the ESTHER Ireland operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* STRATEGY & PLANNING:
* Support the development and implementation of ESTHER strategy and
theory of change.
* PARTNERSHIPS SUPPORT:
* Work closely with the HSE Global Health Programme.
* Meet with personnel from HSE and health-related institutions to
advise on establishing and maintaining partnerships.
* Maintain regular contact with ESTHER grantees and partnerships and
other developing partnerships in liaison with HSE Global Health
programme.
* Accredit ESTHER partnerships through the audit process.
* Source external relevant funding and learning opportunities and
share them with ESTHER partnerships.
* SMALL GRANT FUND:
* Manage the ESTHER small grant fund including administration, grant
management, monitoring and reporting.
* Open and administer Small Grant Rounds.
* ORGANISING EVENTS:
* Organize, host, evaluate, and document ESTHER-related events.
* Ensure ESTHER's active participation and benefit from capacity
building and technical support sessions.
* Plan and host the annual ESTHER Ireland Partnerships Forum.
* COMMUNICATIONS:
* Actively communicate partnership developments via the ESTHER
website and IGHN/HSE social media.
* Produce up to 6 Partnership Panorama newsletters including
information about achievements, lessons learned, funding
opportunities, and resources for partnerships.
* Update and maintain the ESTHER Ireland website.
* Ensure ESTHER Ireland news is prominently featured in HSE and IGHN
social media, websites, and other print media.
* Support the production of?podcast series.
* MANAGEMENT & REPORTING:
* Maintain M&E framework: update & report monthly working closely
with Finance & Administrative Officer
* Contribute to management reporting (monthly and yearly)
* Create slides for Board meetings and other internal and external
meetings.
* Develop an annual work plan and report.
* Manage and coordinate ESTHER Ireland interns.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Relevant degree in a related field (e.g. Global Health, Public
Health, International Development, Project Management, Communications)
* At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or in a
related field such as coordination, project management, or
administration.
* Experience in managing and coordinating international partnerships
and programs.
* Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
* Experience in grant making, grant management and administration.
* Experience in event organisation and management, across in-person,
hybrid, and online events.
* Experience and knowledge of the health sector in low- and
middle-income countries is a plus.
* The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the health
sector and the ability to work effectively with partners and
stakeholders.
